Children's Installation
Egill Sæbjörnsson
Ugh & Boogar’s Book Corner, 2019
Egil Sæbjörnsson’s Ugh & Boogar’s Book Corner, 2019 is a newly commissioned installation where children and parents create stories together. The trolls, Ugh and Boogar, encourage fantasy and invention – they exist because we invent them, so everyone can add to their story. Sæbjörnsson has shared stories about the trolls’ adventures in his artist’s books When Egill met the Trolls and took them to Venice (Argobooks, 2017)* and The Trolls in Hellsinki (Argobooks, 2019)*. As children learn about the trolls, they make up their own stories and participate in activities where they imagine what the trolls are doing. Children may read books and draw with provided paper and colouring materials.
*The books are in English. All activities are in English and German.
Friends with Books: Art Book Fair Berlin requests that children are not left unattended, but always accompanied by a parent. A Friends with Books staff member is present to supervise and assist parents and children.
Visit Argobooks (Table N4) to browse the publications.

Shapes and Grids
Shapes and Grids is a children’s bookmaking workshop* led by artist Claudia de La Torre. Using colour and basic shapes, children learn to make compositions and create their own unique artist book. Coloured paper, drawing pencils, glue sticks, and children’s safety scissors are provided.
